CHRISTINE O'LEARY-ROCKEY at POETRY THURSDAYS 


Christine O'Leary-Rockey will perform verse from her renowned book, "The 3 Faces of Brahman" (PostDada Press, 2010). She'll also be reading from new works.

For many years O'Leary-Rockey had been involved with the Almost Uptown Poetry Cartel, and she's returning to her old haunts to do a special reading of new and older works. April 26, at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore in Harrisburg, PA.

Poet Jack Veasey writes, "Christine O'Leary Rockey's deftly wrought poems draw from impressive resources: a finely-tuned lyric ear, a penchant for aphorism, a storehouse of haunting images, and a lifetime of sharp insights into human nature and experience. is a philosopher is a plumbing of the depths of the history of the Bible and classical myths.

O'Leary-Rockey has gotten into everything from radio to teaching, and counseling, but poetry, says Christine "is the only thing that lasts." Recent publications include the Bloom Magazine, Fledgling Rag, New East Coast Literary Wave, and Experimental Forest.

The Midtown Scholar Bookstore is located at 1302 North 3rd Street, Broad Street Market, Harrisburg, PA 17102, just across from the historic Markethaus.

Poetry of Glasnost open mic, April 5th, Don't be Cruel!

Our first special OPEN POETRY READING this month on will be on April 5. It's open to all. Come read or listen. Our theme (not obligatory) is a celebration of the spirit of Glasnost.
